H-house

This new single-story house north of Ithaca is expected to break ground in the spring of 2024. Nestled on a wooded site, the house looks outward through the trees as much as it looks inward onto a private courtyard. The design separates bedrooms and bathrooms into one branch of the house, with the more public living/kitchen/dining rooms into a second branch. A low hallway connects the two, and ushers visitors through the opaque entry to a fully transparent wall of glass and a view of the courtyard.

Features: Air-to-water heat pumps, hydronic radiant concrete floors, vaulted ceilings, deep overhangs and optimized solar orientation.
